Edin Solis
He was born in Zarcero, in the province of Alajuela, Costa Rica, on November 22, 1963. He graduated in Classic Guitar from the University of Costa Rica under the guidance of professor Luis Zumbado and Randal Dormond.
He has participated in guitar courses by Argentinean masters Jorge Cardoso and Miguel A. Girolet, Demetrio Ballestero from Spain, Francisco Ortiz from France, Flamenco guitarist Victor Monge (Serranito).
In 1991, he won the National Guitar Competition and realize a concert tour in Spain, France and Germany, where he participated in mastering courses. With the group Editus he has visited and spread Costa Rican music in more than thirty countries in America, Europe and Asia.
He�s been awarded with two Grammys for best producer and engineer in the albums �Tiempos� and �Mundo� by Ruben Blades. The ACAM (Authors and Composers Association) has awarded him as the best fixer in the year 2000 and as the best composer of instrumental music in 2007.

As guitarist he has joined Armando Manzanero, Ruben Blades, Leon Gieco, Aterciopelados, Luis Fonsi, Soraya and Luba Mason, among others.
Mike Joice, a critic from the Washington Post, in an article published on March 15th, 2003, related to an interpretation of Editus in the Kennedy Center, in Washington; pointed:
�the Solis clean tones assured alive and brilliant melodies stated in first place� some songs where evocated and fixed marvelously in a vivid form, specially �Piazzolando� by Edin Solis, in a tribute to a dead Argentinean tango composer.
